The Class of 1969 held their first Christmas party at the center and it was a real barn burner. They partied hard and long and really did Christmas 2011 justice. Thank you for allowing us to host your party and we’re looking forward to next year.

This year Sandy Ross our Vice-President decided to put together a community dinner. She enlisted the services of everyone in the community and guess what ? We fed almost 275 people in the community. It was simply awesome.Thank you to everyone who helped pull this off we would call you out indivdually but for fear of leaving someone out we won’t, thanks everyone.

Well it was a great Sunday as we hosted Tiera’s baby shower. Her Mother, Grandmother, Father,Stepfather and friends all came out to ring in the little one.

Badin native Shelia Kirk Baptista came back to her roots and delivered one of her bands for our enjoyment. Andrea and James Rohlehr and The Andjam Band were sensational. It was a very relaxed eveing of some great Jazz music. You can visit their web sites at:Lewis And Kirk Music.Com or

We are continuing our community revitalization as a result of a grant from the Alcoa Foundation. We have purchased the lawn mower for use by Uwharrie Community Services to care for the Oakview Cemetery.
We’ve also started our revitalization of the historic West Badin Business District.
The windows have been wrapped, the building next door has been cleaned out ,the tables & chairs are here as are the Trash Receptacles and we are talking with the town to do new landscaping. This is great for our community and we thank the Alcoa Foundation for teaming up with us to make this happen. I’ll have something new for you soon.
